THE ST. LEGER

It looks an even money bet that, to show a profit on the Great Northern St. Leger at Ellerslie on Monday, backers will h%ve to pick it in one. At present the field is comprised of Toxeuma, Concentrate, Prodice, Llanore, Lucy Rose and Te Money. The last-named pair will have their prospect finalised after the Oaks to-day, but there is a chance that there may be no more than four runners. Toxeuma, Concentrate and Prodice will no doubt be fighting out the finish at the end of the mile and three-quarters on Monday, with Concentrate and Toxeuma having their Trentham battle all over again. Unless Toxeuma shows something out of the box to-day, Concentrate should again beat him in the St. Leger.
