BIRTH OR EMPEROR'S THIRD CHILD EXPECTED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.40 a.m. TOKYO, Friday. It is officially announced that the Empress Ngalco expects the birth of her third child in September. The only living child in the Imperial family is a daughter. A second daughter died. Emperor Hirohito of Japan is 27 years of age, and the Empress 26. They were married on January 26, 1924, three years before Hirohito succeeded to the throne. Their first child, the Princess Shigeko, was born on September 10, 1927, but died on March 2 last year.
