Owing to the pipe line becoming choked, Johnson went to turn off - the supply. Exactly what happened is not yet known, but the boiling bilumen burst out all over his face and hands. At the hospital, immediate steps were taken to save his eyesight, and to-day it was stated that this , : treatment would probably be euccessfuL
