ECONOMIC SOCIETY
PAST YEAR’S ACTIVITIES
The report o£ the Auckland branch of the Economic Society of New Zealand and Australia, presented at the annual meeting of the branch at the Auckland University College last evening recorded a membership of <O. It also referred with satisfaction to the comprehensive series of papers on economic subjects read during the year. Mention was also made of the activities of the research committee, which bad been engaged upon an investigation of local body finances. The inquiry, however, had not reached the stage when a report could be satisfactorily made. The following officers were elected: President. Mr. W. H. Cocker; vicepresidents, Professor H. Belshaw, Dr. E P Neale and Mr. M. Stewart; council Professor H. W. Segar. Messrs. T. Blood-ivorth. F. M. Hills, A. A. Ross, S. Reid. D. Holderness and A. M. Seaman; honorary secretary, Mr. H. R. Rod well: honorary treasurer, Mr. L. M. Holt: auditor, Mr. H. W. Shove.
