MOTOR AND CART COLLIDE

As the result of a collision between a half-ton motor-lorry, driven by Mr. Stephen Roberts, of Takanini, and a horse and cart driven by Mr. Alfred James Loomb, at the junction of Great South Road and Princes Street, Otahuhu, yesterday atternoon, the horss had to be destroyed. The horse-drawn vehicle was turnn 9 into Princes Street and the lorry w** travelling south when the collision ' curred. The horse was knocked do and the driver was thrown from vehicle. The lorry crashed into power pole, the impact crushing radiator and damaging the enginefront axle was broken and the win screen shattered. j Mr. Loomb suffered from shock, a Mr. Roberts received injuries to hand.
