300 American BusinessMen Coming to N.Z . VISIT TO 14 COUNTRIES The San Francisco Chamber e f Commerce is planning the most ambitious tour ever undertaken by a body of commercial men. On the Matson liner Maiolo over 30t» men, representing every branch of community life in California will visit 14 countries and two hemispheres. Auckland is the only port in New Zec * land at which the vessel will call on her wonderful voyage. The Maiolo, which is commonly described as the “Queen of the Matson Fleet,” is scheduled to leave San Francisco in September this year and will take 90 days to make the trip. The primary object of the cruise is to stimulate commercial goodwill between the countries visited and the Pacific Coast of the United States. To ensure the most efficient handling of all business details members of ;m American express company will be on board to minister to the comfort an«i convenience of the travellers.
The tourists will have 37 complete days at the various ports of call in addition to many shorter stops. The itinerary will include calls at Honolulu. Hilo. Pago Pago. Suva. Auckland, Melbourne. Sydney. Surabaya, Batavia, Singapore, Bangkok. Saigon Manila, Hong-Kong, Shanghai, Peking! Kyoto, Nikko, Tokyo, and Yokohama * The Auckland Chamber of Commerce will make arrangements for entertaining the visitors during their short stay here.
