MOUNT EDEN COUNCIL MEETS
BATHS HAVE SUCCESSFUL YEAR “The takings at the baths this season have been greatly in excess of those in any previous year, and the season, on the whole, has been most successful," said Councillor L. Joll at last evenings meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council. Councillor Joll moved that the baths be closed on April 20 and, after a short discussion, the motion was carried. A copy of the War Memorial MuseuEi Maintenance Act was received from the Council of the Auckland Institute and Museum. A statement was enclosed showing that Mount Eden’s share of the local bodies’ contribution was £4Bft 14s lOd. The council also advised that local bodies outside the city were entitled to three seats on the control** ling_ board, and Councillor J. P. Hooten was' elected to represent Mount Eden. The council granted a donation of five guineas to the Mount Eden Boys;’ Band, which was only recently formed, and which now has 33 members.
