The work done by units from D f’onjpany of the First North Auckland Regiment and the Second Cadet Battalion was praised by Captain Me) - ville. of the First Battalion, Nortn Auckland. Regiment, at the conclusion of four davs’ field training. The field exercises were conducted or» the Kauri Gully scenic resene Northcote. and consisted of drill, musketry instruction. training and Lewis machine-gun on . To-day the First Battalion is recei\ing instruction in marksmanship a rifle firing at the Penrose Rine hanpe. while the cadets are receiving similar instruction at the miniature rifle rangi at Northcote.
