AUCKLAND GOLF TITLE
J. L. BLACK AN ENTRANT
The only entry of any note outside Aucklanders for the provincial championships at Titirangi at Easter is that of J. L. Black, of Otorohanga. Black was runnerup in the amateur championship at Dunedin this year. going down to T. H. Horton by one hole. He was runner-up to the open champion at Palmerston North in 1922, and was ono of four who tied for second place H. B. Lusk will defend the title, of which he is the holder, and other entrants include Sloan Morpeth, open champion : R. D. Wright, R. M. George, W. S. Ralph, and H. Reece. The entry this year is small, and the competitors for the title will number about 64. which should prove a very easy field to handle.
AKARANA CLUB
A number of competitions have been arranged for Akarana Golf Club members during Easter. The programme is as follows: Saturday Morning: 18-hole stroke competition. Afternoon: 18-hole bogey. Monday: 36-hole stroke competition, and in the afternoon an 18-hole bogey in addition. Entries will be received at the clubhouse.
