A GOOD BEGINNING

Mr. Collins, president of the Auckland Owners, Breeders and Trainers’ Association, was present at Thames on Saturday and in conjunction with several members of the executive lost no opportunity of advancing the aims and objects of the organisation. “Abaydos” gleaned during conversation with many provincial owners that they were in accord with the movement, and it is quite on the cards that the membership will be considerably augmented. Before the Thames meeting terminated Mr. Collins, on behalf of the association, expressed appreciation to President Twohill for the handsome manner in which owners and trainers were catered for, and promised assistance of the club’s request for an extra permit.
