The “Sun% iy Express” says the Chinese Chung Yi-miao confessed before his execution that he killed his wife, although he loved her. A Chinese wife would know no greater disgrace than to be incapalle of bearing a son, while the husband would be accursed. “Her death was not murder, according to my faith,” he said. “She knew she stood between me and eternal peace.”
