a. C. Holmes arrived in Auckland this morning from the South by the Limited. Dr. E. H. B. Milsom returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. The Hon. J. O. Cobbe, Minister of Marine, is visiting Auckland. He is staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. W. Lee Martin, M.P. for Raglan, returned from Palmerston North by the Limited this morning. Mr. J. W. Collins, Secretary of Commerce, arrived in Auckland this morning. He at the Star Hotel. Dr. C. J. Reakes, Director-General of Agriculture, left for Wellington by the Limited last evening, accompanied Mrs. Reakes. Mr. G. M. Fowlds, who has been attending the Drapers Conference in Velson, returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited. Mr. Lloyd Campbell, a Northern Irish member of the House of Commons, and a director of a Belfast linen manufacturing firm, is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., for Manukau, who is a member of the: Defence Committee of the House of Representatives, left this morning on a visit to the artillery camp at Rotorua. Sir H. Lindo Ferguson has been appointed under the Health Act a member of the Board of Health, and, under ihe Medical Practitioners Act, a member of the Medical Council. Archbishop J. Wright, Archbishop of Sydney, and Primate of Australia, who has been spending a five weeks’ holiday in New Zealand with Mrs. Wright. Is staying at Cargen. He will leave for Sydney by the Niagara this evening. Professor J. B. Condliffe, research secretary of the Institute of Pacific Relations, is staying with Professor P. W. Burbldge, of Takapuna. He / will leave for Sydney by the Maunganui on Thursday, and will later go to Honolulu to prepare for the international conference of the Institute of Kioto in Japan on October 28.
