Mr. Wilford Will Be High Commissioner
NEXT APPOINTMENT INTERESTING POSSIBILITIES (From Our Resident Reporter) WELLINGTON, Sunday. It is stated authoritatively that the Hon. T. M. Wilford will be the next High Commissioner representing the Dominion in London. The term of appointment of Sir James Parr expires in August next. It is understood that Mr. Wilford will leave for England shortly after the opening of the next session of Parliament. . The appointment, which is unlikely to be announced for some t:me, opens up interesting possibilities. The resignation of Mr. Wilford means that Labour, which during the last two elections has chosen Mr. Walter Nash, national secretary of the party, to contest the Mutt seat, will have an excellent chance of gaining another member. It also means, of course, that a new Minister of Justice and Defence will have to be appointed. For this Colonel T. W. McDonald, who defeated the Hon. A. D. McLeod in the "Wairarapa, is considered a possibility.
