TROUBLE AT A DANCE
YOUNG MAN FINED (From Out Oxen Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, To-day. A young man whose name was sun- ; pressed appeared at the Pukekohe j Magistrate’s Court this morning. ! c harged with disorderly behaviour ; while under the influence of liquor. The police said that the erefendunt i and others forced their way into the Mauku Hall on Saturday evening whil** 1 a dance was being held. The party became so objectionable that it had to be ejected. A disturbance followed J and the police were summoned, i Drunke n men had been disturbing too j many entertainments in the district of i late, and the accused had been on a drinking bout for several days. The police asked for a light penalty to serve as a warning. In the future i they intended to apply for a term of imprisonment. Accused was fined £1 and 10s costs by Mr. D. R. Hamilton, J.P. Accused’s application for the suppression of his name on the grounds that it wqjjld j prejudice a position he wiui seeking j was granted.
