Newton, of Auckland, repeated last year’s success at the New Zealand Maori tennis tournament by again winning the women’s singles today. The semi-final stage has been reached in other events, and some keenly-contested games are anticipated to-morrow. Results:— Morehu Juroa Inter-tribal Challenge Cup.—Semi-final: Arawa beat Takitimu, 3—o, 38—21; Whanganui beat Horouta, 3—l, 50—40. Girls’ Junior Championship.—Second round: Miss R.
