WAS HOUSE MISLAID?

ONE REPORTED MISSINC AT CANBERRA Despite denials in Parliament, there are persistent rumours in Canbetra that one of the commission's houses is missing . Some time ago the commission let a contract for the construction of 100 eottages, and when the con. tract was completed it was asserted than only 99 could be found. A question was asked in the House of Representatives regarding this mysterious disappearance of a whole house, and the Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Abbott, read a reply, sup. plied by the commission, stating that every house had been accounted for. It is now stated that an inspector, who has had a count made, has found that there are only 99 houses built under the contract, although, it is believed, 100 were paid for.
