GOLD FROM ASHES
When Paramount’s new sound studio burned recently the catastrophe had a quaint angle in the fact that among those who rushed to the scene were innumerable camera men. Some were news-reel men, but more than a few were out simply to get “fire footage,” to be stowed away in the libraries of their respective studios and some day used to add realism to a screen drama. The very studio that was threatened with destruction had three cameras at the fire, and when it was over the Paramount library was richer by 2,500 feet of celluloid excitement.
