CHURCH WORKER HONOURED
FUNCTION AT PAPATOETOE Air. E. Ross, secretary of St. John’s Presbyterian Sunday School, and member of the church choir, was given a farewell social in the school hall by a number of church workers, prior to his departure for Dunedin, where he is to be married. Airs. Aluir, on behalf of the Sunday school teachers presented the guest with a Bible, and on behalf of tlie members of the choir Dr. J. J. Valentine presented a dainty silver bowl. The Rev. T. H. Roseveare and Mr. J. McFarland spoke of the good services given to the church and Sunday school by Air. Ross, and wished him every happiness in his new sphere. During tlie evening a number of very enjoyable musical items were given by Dr. J. J. Valentine and Miss Mary Wilson, vocal duet; Rev. T. H. Roseveare, vocal solo; Miss Bertha Wyllie, vocal solo; and a playette by Alisses Joyce Knight, ‘Margaret McFarland and Lulu Hunter.
