NEW REGENT

"THE TRAIL OF ’9B” "Tlio Trail of ’OS,” which is now in the second week of its Auckland season, will be screened again this evening at the New Regent Theatre. "The Trail of ’9B” has been acclaimed everywhere as the most majestic and imposing tribute to the endurance and fortitude of the human race ever depicted in any form, and its stark realism is a new factor in dramatic art. The New York “Sun” said of this picture:— "The lust for Klondyke gold is celebrated in a big way in ‘The Trail of ’98.” Adapted from the book by Robert W. Service, it is a crowded, tumultuous spectacle, vividly biting and real Incident after incident crowd on one another’s hob-nailed, snowencrusted heels, and spectacle follows melodrama with romance close behind. Pictorially as well as emotionally, “The Trial of ’9S” is an amazing picture.”

In the picture there are three supreme thrills that are unforgettable, and have never before bee;i approached on the screen —the snow avalanche, the White Horse rapids scene, and the burning of Lawson City at the end of the story.

In range and spectacle “The Trail of ’9B” is even bigger than “Ben Hur.” The story is unfolded by a large cast of 35 players who are supported by 15,000 extras, this being 2,000 more than the numbers in “Ben-Hur.”

The principal roles are token by the beautiful actress Lolores Lei Rio and by the talented English actor, Ralph Forbes. Karl Lane and Harry Carey, two stars in their own right, have strong roles.

“The Trail of ’9S” is accompanied by a special musical programme by the Regent Operatic Orchestra.
