Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm will tako a letter from the Returned Sailors and Soldiers’ League to the grand president of the British Empire Service League, Earl Jellicoe. The letter will contain fraternal greetings to the comrades of the senders, and good wishes to nurses. In the action, Hitchcock v. SquadronLeader Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm, the jury to-day returned a verdict for the defendants.

In the case referred to in the cablegram, Henry Hitchcock claimed £I,OOO for an alleged breach of contract. Plaintiff contended that it was agreed lie should assist in gathering funds for the Pacific flight, also that he should accompany the flyers. He said he waived his right on the understanding that he should be paid £I,OOO on the completion of the flight. Defendants denied any indebtedness to plaintiff.

LANCASTER AGAIN

BERMUDA TO AMERICA (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) NEW YORK, Thursday. Colonel Potter Campbell, representative of a British motor company, has arrived at Hamilton, Bermuda, to make plans for a flight from there to New York in a small Moth airplane. Captain Lancaster will bo the pilot. It is hoped to make the flight in six hours.
