MILK VENDOR FINED £5

Charged with selling milk containing 13 per cent, of added water and less 8i per cent, of solids other than butter-fa-to Arthur B. Wallbank, a milk vendor, was fined £5 and costs at the Police Court yesterday. A sample had been taken before there was any time to do anything to the milk after getting it from the supplier. Defendant had no contract with the dairyman and was thus unable to throw the responsibility back on the man responsible. Wallbank now had cows of his own and could be sure of the quality of his milk. Counsel asked for leniency as it was really not defendant's fault and he was struggling hard to build up his business.
