BALLOT PAPER BONFIRE
STARTLING DECISION OF STRIKERS WIVES SUPPORT THE MEN (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Kecd. 9.45 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A startling decision not to yote in tlie forthcoming ballot on the strike, but to burn tlie ballot paper in a public bonfire, was reached at a meeting of the timber workers and their wives at the Town Hall. The move received unanimous support from the Communists, who were present in strong numbers. A mass meeting of strikers will be convened, when the strikers are expected to attend with the papers, which will be destroyed. Communists of both sexes played a prominent part in the demonstration, speaking from the platform, and leading the singing of revolutionary songs. Three launches in which volunteer labour is taken from the timber yards were tampered with qvernight. Holes were drilled in the bottoms and the boats were discovered in a sinking condition.
