SEVEN RECORDS GO
MT. ALBERT GRAMMAR SPORTS final events yesterday Five records were smashed in the second and final day of the Mount Albert Grammar School’s annual sports, held on the Domain yesterday afternoon. This makes, in all. seven new records for the school this season. NE weather favoured the meeting, which was well attended by parents, friends and old boys of the school. After the previous rains the tracks were in good order. While the breaking of long-standing records was the order of the tlaj, a most noticeable and pleasing feature was the general organisation of the gathering, the races being run off in quick succession and without a hitch of any kind. This reflects the titmost credit on those who were in charge. The records which were broken during the afternoon are: T. C. Finlayson. 440yds. senior championship: J. W. Coney. 440yds. junior championship, junior high jump, and 440yds. handicap, under 16; T .Sawers. SSOyds. handicap, under 17, frofn scratch. I. Grant equalled the record in the 100yds. championship, under 14. W. A. Briggs and A. B. Browne had previously established new figures in the mile championship <4.55) and 440 yds. open handicap (58 l-ss). respectively. making the total of new records for the season seven.
