TREATMENT OF GOITRE
WAIKATO HOSPITAL TO INSTALL APPARATUS NEW MATERNITY WARD (From Our Own Correspondent J HAMILTON, To-day. At the Waikato Hospital Board meeting to-day it was announced that a new basis o£ charges in connection witli the King George Hospital had been arrived at. The board would pay 5s 9d for adults, and 3s for children. It was stated that plans for the proposed maternity ward were now ready, and were waiting the Minister's approval. It decided to install an apparatus for the treatment of goitre. The question of converting the Huntly maternity home into a general hospital was discussed, and it was decided to hold a. conference between the board and the committee of Huntly citizens to discuss the position. It was decided to inquire into the resignation of two nurses at tb® Hamilton Hospital, who lad casßpluined they were dismissed for petty Weaches of regulations.
