BROADCAST CUT SHORT

GALE AT WELLINGTON AERIAL DAMAGED AT 2YA Press Association WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A. north-westerly gale in Wellington to-night caused the broadcast station 2YA to cease transmission at 7.45 p.m. A gust carried the lead-in away and it fouled the towers, greatly reducing radiation. Men sent to Roseneath to effect repairs had great difficulty in approaching the station owing to the wind, which, it is stated, is the worst since the station was erected. The station ceased transmission at 8.45 p.m. for repairs. About an hour later the aerial proper carried away.
