INCREASED IMPORTS

AUCKLAND FIGURES FOR FEBRUARY The total imports during the month of February at the port of Auckland were 98,190 tons, compared with 93,783 tons in February. 1928, an increase of 4.407 tons, according to the report on cargo imports presented at the meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday. Of the total, trade Irom coastal ports outside the province accounted for 31.399 tons, Australian trade for 12,011 tons, the United Kingdom for 17,900 tons, and the United States for 13,011 tons. The number of passengers who arrived at Auckland during February was 1.555. while the departures totalled 1.351. This return show's a decrease of arrivals of 726 and a decrease of departures of 167, compared with the corresponding month of 1928.
