W. Foote expressed his indignation u i the board being absolutely j ignored. ! Other members alluded to the ciri ou la tion in the city of a petition for a poll on the question of rating on unimproved values and predicted that it would prove successful, in which case the Roskill South ratepayers would be ! out of the frying-pan and into the fire. Other speakers contended that the i board was being side-stepped by the City’ Council, and it was ultimately decided to ask that body for a definite reply to the question. "Do you propose to consider further the question of the amalgamation of Roskill South without reference to this board?” In reply to a request by the boari. the Minister of Internal Affairs agrropd to forward the amalgamation petition of the Roskill South ratepayers for the board's perusal in order that the signatures may be verified.
