NO THIRD DEGREE
REPORT ON THE POLICE SCOTLAND YARD INQUIRY (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) ( United Service) Reed. 11 a.m. LONDON, Monday. That the allegations of the use of the third degree have been exaggerated is understood to be the chief point in the Police Commission’s report, which will be published later. It finds that, in everyday practice, the rights of individuals and the demands of justice have been safeguarded. It emphasises that there should not be any new handicaps against the investigating of serious crimes. The appointment of this commission, which was presided over by Viscount Lee, of Fareham, was precipitated by the Hyde Park case, involving Sir Leo Cliiozza Money.
