FAVOURITE FALLS TWICE

YESTERDAY was not jockey K. Gill’s lucky day. His horse. Unoco, favourite in the Hack Cup, slipped and fell before the race. The field had not gone more than a furlong before Flapperette fell and in trying to avoid her Unoco crashed heavily, but neither Gill nor Hargreaves was badly hurt, although several horses jumped over the latter. The mishap occurred at the crossing going out of the straight. Gill was later found to have sustained slight concussion and did not ride again during the day.
