THEATRE ON WHEELS
TRAVELLING BOX-OFFICE ENTERTAINMENT A magnificent blue, brown and gold motor caravan, with four huge loud speakers pointing from the top like guns from a battleship, will soon be seen in the villages and provincial towns of England. When it stops all the latest songd and music will be heard from the loud speakers, a cinema will give a free entertainment to crowds from factories or football grounds, and at a box office in the caravan seats can be booked for the variety theatre in the neighbouring town. This box-office-entertainment-recital on wheels is the first of its kind started by the Stoll Theatres. If successful, a whole fleet may come into operation. “Variety is the spice of life,” is the slogan on the sides of the van, which has sleeping accommodation for the chauffeur.
