FORD SHARES LEAP

Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. NEW YORK, Saturday. j Shares in the Ford Company of Can-! ada rose 304 points on the kerb mar-! ket to-day, in one of the most spectacular advances in stock market his- j tory, following an overnight announce-1 ment of a proposed 20-for-one split-up ! of stock. The kerb, although accustomed to I wild gyrations in this stock, was nevertheless amazed when it opened on a transaction of 400 shares at 1,025 j dollars, representing a gain of 204, and j continued to rise during the day. Stockholders will reecive 20 shares for each old one, 19 of them being non-voting.
