RUGBY FOOTBALL
MATAMATA CLUB (From Our Own Correspondent) MATAMATA, Saturday. About 40 members and supporters attended tho annual meeting of the Matamata Football Club, held in the Farmers’ Hall on Thursday evening. Mr. J. P. White presided. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow: President, Mr. J. P. White; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. H. Hawes, C. Barry, W. Egan, I). Koigard, and W. Clover; secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. Mehrtens; auditor, Mr. R. W. Stevens; management committee, Messrs. Roigard, Clover, Ensor, Ellery, and Hitcliock; selectors, senior, Mr. L. Mehrtens, junior, Mr. T. McLay, third grade, Mr. S. Bagrie; delegates to union, Messrs. J. H. Hawes, L. Mehrtens, D. Roigard; club captain, Mr. D. Ensor; field captain to be elected on the field. The season is to be opened with a practice game on the first Saturday after Easter, and outside games are to be prranged for the following Saturday. The balance sheet showed a credit of £25.
