TRIBUTE TO RYDER
WINNERS ENTERTAINED ENGLISHMEN CHEERED MELBOURNE, Sunday. The Australian cricket team was entertained at the conclusion of the test match by tho Cricket Association. Ryder spoke enthusiastically of Australia’s young players. Kippax paid a graceful tribute to Ryedr’s ability as captain and to his personal qualities. Groat enthusiasm prevailed when all the English cricketers but Chapman, who is bound for New Zealand, left by train yesterday afternoon for Perth. A dense crowd of people cheered the players, Hobbs receiving a flattering ovation. The visitors will play the last match of their tour at Perth on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, against a combined team representing Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria.
