MEN FROM TAUPO LINE (From, Our Own Correspondent) OPOTIKI, To-day. Immediately tho news was received in Opotiki that the Government intended to discontinue tho construction of the Rotorua-Taupo railway. the newly-fprmed Ooptiki Railway League sent a long telegram to Sir Joseph Ward, asking that tho men be transferred to tho Main East Coast line, and that tho Taneatua-Opotiki section be commenced immediately. The following reply was received to-day: “Your telegram submitting the representations re Taneatua-Opotiki railway is to hand. It will receive the careful consideration of Cabinet.”
