RUGBY TOURISTS
AUSTRALIAN VARSITY TEAM TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND OUTLINE OF ITINERARY This year an Australian University Rugby side will visit New Zealand to play against the various University Colleges and the New Zealand University representative team. This is the first time such a team has been invited to New Zealand, all the other Intercolonial University fixtures having been made with Sydney University only. It is believed that this tour will be the means of introducing the Rugby code into Queensland and Victoria as the Universities of both these States are playing Rugby this year, having been stimulated to do so by the prospect of having representatives in this touring side. The tentative programme for the tour is as follows: Wednesday: Leave Sydney by May 21.—Tuesday: Arrive Wellington. May 22.—Wednesday: Versus Victoria University College at. Wellington. May 22.—Wednesday: Leave for Dunedin by ferry Wahine. May 25.—Saturday: Versus Otago University at Dunedin. May 29.—Wednesday: Versus Canterbury University College at Christchurch. June I.—Saturday: Versus New Zealand University at Christchurch. First test. June s.—Wednesday: Versus New Zealand University at Wellington. Second test. Saturday, June 8. —Versus New Zealand University at Auckland. Third test. June 12.—Wednesday: Versus Auckland University College at Auckland. June 14.—Friday: Depart for Sydney by s.s. Ulimaroa.
