STRAND

“THE WOMAN DISPUTED” Exciting adventure, romance and intrigue are all featured in the powerful drama, “The Woman Disputed,” which is still fascinating the audiences at the Strand Theatre. A character of unusual strength and fascination, Mary Ann Wagner is the heroine of ‘‘The Woman Disputed,” the part played by Norma Talmadge. Her life is the drama of regeneration, romance and the conflict between self and sacrifice. Two men, inseparable friends, fall in love with her. Then comes the war, and the rivals in love find themselves rivals in war. Misunderstanding destroys the friendship of years, and in its place there springs up a lust for vengeance. Suddenly the girl finds herself face to face with, a supreme test; she must sacrifice

either honour or country. A widelyheralded dramatic climax on the stage, its emotional tensity has been heightened in the film play. The picture was directed by Henrv King and Sam Taylor, and prominent players appearing in support of Norma Talmadge are Gilbert Roland, Arnold Kent. Gustav Von Seyffertitz. Michael Vavitch, Boris de Fas and Gladys Broekwell.

The excellent supporting programme includes the appearance of Baby June, a clever child actress who, sings and dances in her delightful manner.

A special musical accompaniment is provided by the Strand Symphony Orchestra. under the baton of Eve Bentley.
