MUNICIPAL CONCERT

For the opening concert of the above series, to be given in the Town Hall on Saturday evening next, the Municipal Band, under the baton of Bandmaster Smith, has prepared a programme of brilliant numbers, which comprise “The Flying Dutchman” overture, a selection from “Carmen,” the lovely Andante con Moto from the Fifth .Symphony of Beethoven. Dvorak’s 3rd Slavonic Dance, a first performance of a dramatic overture, “The Maid of Orleans,” and a bright selection from Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance.” "The Tyrolean Lovers,” a brilliant new cornet duo. will be played by Messrs. Bowes and Davies, and Mr. McLennan will play as a flute solo Buse’s Polonaise. The vocalist, Miss Veda Hutchinson, will sing some charming numbers from A. A. Milne’s “When We Were Very Young,” and American Indian songs. Mr. Leo Whittaker will be at the piano. Booking arrangements fire advertised.
