Round the Churches
Canon Percival James will preach at the morning service at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, to-morrow. Instead of the evening service, the sacred cantata, "Olivet to Calvary,”’ will be sung by the cathedral choir. The cantata will begin at 7 p.m.
The Rev. W. Gilmour -will preach at both services in the Edendale Presbyterian Church to-morrow. At Hobsonville, at 7 p.m., Mr. Reuben E. Wodle will preach on “Modernism Exposed.’’ The Rev. W. D. Morrison-Sutherland will speak at the morning service in the Somervell Church, and the Rev. J. Pattison in the evening.
In St. Matthew’s, Wellesley Streei, to-morrow .morning. Canon Grant Cowen will preach. In the evening the Rev. Carew Thomas will conduct the service, and Gounod’s anthem, “‘Come Unto Him,” will be sung.
Mr. A. Hamblin will preach at the Methodist Central Mission in Airedale Street at 11 a.m. to-morrow. In the evening Mr. Thomas will speak at France Street, and the Rev. J. E Goldie, president of the conference, will preach at the Strand Theatre service.
The Rev. Arthur Mitchell will preach on “A Permanent Reality” in St. John s Church, Ponsonby Road, to-morrow morning. In the evening he will speaK on “Christian Certitude.”
The Progressive Church of Spiritualists, Alma Street, Newmarket, will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. to-morrow. An address will be given by a student, and spiritual messages will be gi : /en.
The Spiritual Scientists’ Church, Newton, will hold an open circle at three o’clock to-morrow afternoon. At 7 p.m. an address will be given by the Rev. J. G. Hughes.
At to-morrow morning’s service in the Grange Road Baptist Church, the Rev. A. S. Wilson will speak on “The Doctrine of Sanctification —Is It Obsolete?” In the evening the Rev'. A. Wilson will conduct the service, ann Miss Burnet, of Japan, will speak on ‘The Crisis of the Deeper Life.”
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, will hold services to-morrow nhorning and evening in the church hall off Symonds Street. The subject of the addresses will be “Substance.
Mrs. Guy Thornton will speak at the Young Men’s brotherhood meeting, which will be held in the T.M.C.A. Building at 4.15 to-morrow.
The International Bible Student Association will meet in the Mason Hall, Edinburgh Street, at 6.45 P : »- to-morrow. Mr. J. H. Archer w'ill fP an address on “The Day of the Lora.
