COMPANY PAYMENTS The Bruntwood Dairy Company wifi advance £2,686 12s on tlie basis of Is 4d a lb butter-fat for cheese-making, against Is 4id last year, when the total pay-out was £2,337. The Cambridge Company will pay out to suppliers £22,500, on the basis of Is 6d a lb butter-fat for cheese-making, and Is 5d for butter, against Is 4id and Is 3id for the corresponding period last season, when the total pay-out was £15,100. To the end of February the company has paid out £201,100, against £167,900 for the same period last year. The Hikurangi Dairy Company produced 137 tons 14cwt of butter for February, as against 113 tons 16cwt for February, 1928. The output up to February increased from SB2 tons lewt in 1928 to 1,072 tons 13cwt in 1929. The pay-out also showed a large increase, being £13,105, at Is 3£d a lb, for finest, for February, 1928, and £17,983, at Is s!d a lt>, for ,finest, for February, 1929. The Whangaroa Dairy Company reports an increase of nearly three tons in the output for last month. The grading was 93. i, and pay-out was at the rate of Is 4d a lb finest butter-fat and Is old for first grade. The weather continues dry, and although light rain during the last week has had a good effect, a good soaking rain is required to stop the season closing quickly. * * # The Bay of Plenty Co-operative Dairy Association, Te Puke, reports that for the past month 294,4031 b of butter-fat was received. The pay-out to suppliers on March 20 will be £21,872. For the corresponding period last year the butterfat received was 226,7401 b and the payment to suppliers £14,385. The pay-out to suppliers for the present season to the end of February amounts to £158,452, while for the corresponding period last year £119,64i5 was paid to the suppliers. The increase this season is £38,807. Butter manufactured to the end of February this year was I,ISB tons 14cwt while for the corresponding period last year the ouput was 980 tons 19cwt, an increase of 21.1 per cent.
