LOAN TO PENNILESS MAN Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. To-day. An allegation of gross lacx or proper care on the part of the late Government in granting a State Advances loan to a man who was ill in hospital and had no money and practically no prospects was made at a lively meeting of creditors to-day. Bankrupt was Leonard Owen Bellette, a builder. A motion was carried that the whole business be referred to the Crown Solicitor for investigation. The Official Assignee stated the deficiency was £ 800.
