DANCING AT THE PIRATE SHIP
To Okie Pirate Shippo Cabaret on Milford Beach will be the scene of another happy dance to-morrow evening. Tickets, which can bo obtained at the Ferry Buildings, Auckland, cover both the through bus fare from Auckland and admission to the cabaret.
“Tho Case of Lena Smith,” the Esther Ralston starring production which was completed recently at the Paramount studios under the direction of Josef von Sternberg, will be released as a silent picture only. December saw the completion of Universal’s second stage erected for sound productions. Work is being rushed upon the third and largest unit, which is being built especially for the production of “Broadway,” to be made on a gigantic scale under the direction of Paul Fejos and the supervision of Carl Laemmle, Jr.
Otis Harlan is the latest addition to the cast of “Broadway,” which already contains such names as Glenn Tryon Evelyn Brent, Myrna Kennedy, Paul Porcasi and Thomas Jackson. Otis Harlan plays the role of “Porky” Thompson.
Tho Paramount all-colour film. “Redskin,” in which Richard Dix has the starring role, has been released as a long-run picture at the Criterion Theatre on Broadway. It will be released in New Zealand also during this year. Dix portrays the character of a Navajo Indian in the picture.
