Sydney’s Drug Evil —Man Fined and Given Imprisonment
Received 9.30 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. HARRY NEWMAN, aged 37, was sentenced to nine mouths’ imprisonment with hard labour, and also was fined £2OO. in default twelve months’ imprisonment, for having cocaine in his possession. A remarkable allegation was made by Detective Wickham, to the effect that the accused suggested that with Wickham's help he could corner the drug market and within two years Wickham coukl retire.
