JAVELIN THROW RECORD
S. LAY’S FINE FEAT Press Association DA NNEVIRKE, Wed nesday. S. Lay, the Australian and New Zealand champion javelin thrower, made a throw of 213 feet 2 : i inches at the Dannevirke Athletic Club’s meeting to-day. This throw exceeds his present record by 7ft 3£in. The throw was made against a light southerly wind, the distance being measured with a steel tape by the county engineer.
