DISPUTE OVER LAND
MOTION LOST AT TAKAPUNA At last evening’s meeting - of the Takapuna Borough Council, Cr. J. Guiniven moved that the resolution concerning the land of Messrs. A. I-I. and E. Brett, under section 8 of the Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Act, 1928, be rescinded. Mr. Guiniven notified that a resolution hostile to th© council's attitude had been carried at a public meeting the previous evening. After a long debate, during which some heated passages occurred between Cr. Guiniven and the Mayor and Cr. Gould, the motion was defeated. A record gallery of the public was present.
