FIRES RAGE IN BUSH
TOWNSHIPS MENACED BLAZE IN ADELAIDE HILLS (United I’.A. —Bij Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 10.35 a.m. ADELAIDE, To-day. Extending on a front of 35 miles, a chain of bust fires in the Adelaide hills destroyed 1,000 acres of timber and grazing property, and endangered townships and homesteads. The damage runs into many thousands of pounds. The stock losses are comparatively small, but tbe fate of 500 sbeep at Forstville is not known. One fire-fighter collapsed. He is in a serious condition.
