HUGE ELECTION EXPENSE
CONSERVATIVES’ £IOO,OOO LIBERALS TO SPEND £70,000 (United P.A.—-By Telegraph Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 10.35 a.in. LONDON, Tuesday. The Conservatives have already arranged to spend £IOO,OOO on election advertising, and the Liberals £70,000. The political parties in Britain are making their final ‘‘whip round” before the election. Viscount Younger, treasurer of the Conservative Party, has appealed to his fellow members of the Carlton Club to subscribe £IOO,OOO as a fighting fund. He has contributed £IO,OOO.
The Liberals are -well supplied -with money. The Labour Party recently received several large donations and no longer has any financial anxiety.
