ROME AND ROTARY

CONFERENCES REVIEWED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.7 a.m. CHICAGO, Tuesday. Mr. R. b. Sutton, chairman ol the Rotary International, arrived here had reviewed the conferences with the Catholic authorities regarding their attitude toward Rotary, substantially repeating the statement previously fflade exclusively to the Australian and New Zealand Press Association; but he added three points—first, that there is nothing in the principles and Practices of Rotary contrary to the dogma of the Catholic faith; second, that Catholics would cease to belong •o Rotary if there were; thirdly, that Catholics would cease to belong to Rotary if its fundamental rules, previously outlined, were not observed.

CANBERRA CONFERENCE

CANBERRA, Tuesday. Three hundred delegates from all Parts of Australia and from New Zealand are present at the second annual conference of the Sath District Rotary International. The Prime Minister, air. Bruce, opened the conference to-day. He expressed the opinion that Rotary would become a great force in the world. Mr. J. Gentles, of Auckland, delivered greetings from the New Zealand districts. Other districts also sent Sreetings and many were read from Rotarians abroad.
