In the very room in which the late Field - Marshal Earl Haig performed his last public duty, his ten-year-old son, the young Earl Haig, and Master Peter Howson (son of Major Howson) were on January 12, at the British Legion Headquarters at Richmond, Surrey, enrolled as Wolf Cubs in the late Earl Haig’s own troop of Boy Scouts. The enrolment ceremony: Earl Haig (on right, holding totem pole) and Master Peter Howson being sworn in.
