NEW THRILLS
DIRT-TRACK RACING MOTOR SPORTS AT MANGERE Auckland will be offered new thrills on Saturday, March 23, when dirttrack motor racing will be undertaken on Mr. G. Henning’s course at Mangere. The racing will be controlled by the Auckland Automobile Racing Club. Ltd. Many of the members of the club are on the council of the Auckland Automobile Association and the committee which conducted race meetings on Muriwai Beach until last year lias been absorbed. The dirt track has been constructed by Mr. Henning, who acquired the 200-
acre property over four years ago. The track lies in a natural basin, the sides of which rise to over 100 ft and afford points of vantage for tens of thousands of spectators.
The following programme has been arranged: Touring car and roadster handicap. 9 h.p. and under, 2 laps; motor-cycle handicap, open, 2 laps; touring handicap, over 9 h.p., 3 laps; racing cars or stripped stock cars, open, 5 laps; motor-cycle handicap, open, 5 laps; closed-car handicap, 2 laps; ladies’ race, 2 laps; racing or stripped cars, open, 10 laps.
