STRAND
“THE WOMAN DISPUTED” ‘The Woman Disputed.’’ the latest picture by Xorma Talmadge, is still attracting crowds to the Strand Theatre. The heroine in “The Woman Disputed” is a girl of the streets whose soul is reborn amid the fires of war and the sacrifices of real love. The part of Mary Ann Wagner is easily Miss Talmadge’s finest role, and the production itself is the biggest she has ' over appeared in. The cast of hundreds, including Gil- ! hert Roland. Arnold Kent, Gustav von Seyffertitz. Michael Vavitch, Boris de Fas and Gladys Brockwell, is in keepi ing with the high standard set by the ; entire picture. Henry King and Sam I Taylor’s direction seems inspired, and j the photography could not be improved upon. Settings are lavish, the i war scenes awesome. I Some of the finest acting ever seen i on the screen is a feature of this picI ture. The love scenes between Miss ; Talmadge and Gilbert Roland are es- ! pecially touching. Magnify the most . passionate screen moments you have ever witnessed and they will fall short of those in this movie romance. ‘‘The Woman Disputed” must be ranked as one of the year’s outstand- • ing screen offerings. ! One of the most interesting items on the supporting programme is the : singing and dancing of the tiny tot | known as Baby Juno. I A number of interesting short films ; are shown and excellent music is j played by Eve Bentley’s Orchestra.
